Extract from an all Members email from the Chair
We had been asked by members for a while now, as to whether we are able to provide them with guidance on how to use their technical devices more confidently. As we all know this can be a difficult area for many of us and we have therefore listened and investigated how we may help.
To that end, I am now pleased to inform you that we have identified the offer of free training sessions through a project run by a charity AbilityNet and funded by BT, which will be available until next January 2027.
The training will cover topics starting from a very basic level if required, i.e. from how to answer your mobile phone to accessing apps, seeking information from the internet and answering e-mails, to mention just a few. Whatever problems you are having with technology, the trainer Helen, will be able to help. She assures me this is conducted in a very down to earth and friendly style of learning.
She proposes to facilitate three sessions to cover specific topics, each one lasting 90 minutes consisting of one hour's training and thirty minutes of questions and answers. She will conduct these at one of our u3a venues in our region over a period of weeks.
