The Understand the Economy group has been meeting since early 2023 first using Tim Hartford’s BBC Radio series, whose title we hijacked, as a springboard for our discussions.
Since then we have continued to investigate a variety of issues ranging from Trumps tarrifs, a no-growth economy, the economics of the Ukraine war and others.
Group members bring their own interests and life experience to share and our meetings are full of lively debate, enthusiastic exchange of views and even occasional illumination.
